Farmhand for the morning...

Some of our friends have gone camping this weekend, so Mr. S and I are taking turns feeding their animals. It's really peaceful out in the country, with friendly horses, a lazy dog, and pecking chickens.

Being a faux-farmhand totally reminded me of Laura Ingalls. I've always been a big fan of Little House on The Prairie. I read the books, watched the TV show, and even got to go to their house in the Ozarks. It was quite the obsession. And I think it's because it was a simpler, happy time.

But now back to reality...or else Nellie will get ya. She's the queen bitch, after all.

It all started with a big BANG!

This is my new favorite show. It's awesomesauce and all that and a bag of chips. Do any other TV shows invent such things like "Rock, scissors, paper, lizard, Spock"? I don't think so. :-P

Another nerdy thing I'm excited about: the Savannah Asian Festival! I can totally get my egg roll on and get in touch with my peeps. Cuz I'm aXsiuhn. Or something like that.

Pharmacies....

My cutie playing in the kitchen. Her favorite thing to do now is grab my hands and practice walking/running all over the house.

It's amazing how different two pharmacies can be. Let's just say I normally go to Pharmacy A, because it's cheap and all that jazz. Well, apparently they were out of my thyroid medicine for almost a week. Plus, they didn't even bother transferring it to another pharmacy that had it, or even calling me to let me know about the shortage. Sooo not cool. Mr. S took my poor little script to Pharmacy B, where it only took 20 minutes. WTH?

New healthy things I'm going to try: a new multivitamin, green smoothies(???) and ZUMBA. I'll keep you posted on how those work out!

Hello blog! I have missed you.

*Brush off dust*

Why hello there! It's good to see you too. It's been forever, you say? No kidding.

I'm kind of bad at this whole, um, remembering to write. Add last semester's icky classes(Algebra and Physics anyone? Yuck) and I was not a happy camper. But now it's wonderful, sunny summer. My classes are a lot better, the sun is shining, I think I've turned a corner.

I have a plan for shopping for this summer. It's called operation buy some summer dresses! When it gets sticky and hot out, I always opt for shorts and T-shirts. I want to branch out and be a bit girly this time. I also painted my nails a bright poppy color.

Say what you mean.

I'm trying to get healthy this year. I feel like it's an uphill battle.

With having PCOS and an underactive thyroid, it's like I have to beat up my body in order for it to work right. It doesn't want to work right naturally. I don't want this to sound like I'm just having a pity party, but it is a pain in the ass. I wish I didn't dwell on things so. I wish I could just pick myself up, brush off the dirt, and be okay.

I feel like I am mourning the loss of the old me. I'm not quite sure who the new me is, but she's pretty awesome and powerful. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid. I'm very sad to lose the old me. Life was simpler back then. But you know what? Life will be better now.

Lexi's teething, poor thing. She's all cranky and overtired.

I feel better now that I got that out of my system.

9 Days till Christmas

The countdown is on! I'm so excited.

Today we're going to buy Christmas cards, and later tonight I have book club.

For book club we've been reading Little Women. If you haven't read it, it's about the lives of the March girls during the Civil War.

Hackers are sooo not cool.

So tonight after I put the Lexi-bean to bed I log in to my FB account. Apparently I've been hacked!!! Argh. Some weirdo from Paraguay logged in my account a mere two hours earlier. I changed a whole buncha passwords to EVERYTHING. Take that, weirdo.

It might have to do with me reporting a weirdo yesterday for impersonating Mr. S and sending me spam. Eek. I did block that weirdo as well.

In funnier news, I got pantsed.

Yes, my dear innocent child decided it would be fun to pants her mother.

I was getting her bath ready, and I put her on the floor so I could turn on the faucet. Well, I feel two hands clutch my pants, and next thing I know, my sweats are down to my ankles. Ahh....the joys of motherhood.

Ooh la la....

So guess who scored 50% off of an hour long massage? Moi!

I just spent $30 on a massage gift certificate, which is a steal. The only time I've had a massage before was a prenatal massage a year ago, and that was one of the most relaxing hours of my life. It was WONDERFUL. Soft, warm bed, relaxing aromatherapy, being massaged for a whole hour.... :D. The only downer was that my back pain came back by the time I drove the bumpy road home. It was still worth it, though.

I'm thinking of cashing it in on my birthday.

I also bought a book called The Belly Fat Cure. I still have my belly pooch from pregnancy with the Lexi-Bean, so I figure giving this cookbook/lifestyle a try won't hurt. I won't call it a diet per se because those don't work for me. I just need to eat healthier overall.

I'm also thinking about buying some new workout clothes, but then I keep going on Old Navy's website and seeing cute accessories... I think it depends whether or not I can persuade this woman on Craiglist to sell me her jogging stroller for $25. She told me it was not sold yet, but she has had a lot of inquiries. Darn people and their inquiries!

Finals week!

I should be stressing out more....but I'm not.

I think my thoughts are turned a bit towards....CHRISTMAS.

Our tree is decorated, lights are up, village is set up. We still need to get Lexi-pants a stocking, and wrap presents.

I've been lusting over THIS diaper bag lately.

Check out the storage in this baby...insulated bottle/sippy cup holders, key ring, stroller handles, tons of pockets...drool.

Not to mention how cute this little family looks right here. Of course I don't normally look that chic(especially post-baby) but it's definitely something to strive towards. ;-)

Currently I'm toting a used Petunia Pickle Bottom Toddler tote. It's alright, but not my dream bag. The bottle pockets are small, and I'm not crazy about the storage or the handles. I'm too broke to justify buying a REAL new PPB bag, but this Timi and Leslie bag is less than half the price of a PPB!

So yes, it's definitely one of my dream Christmas presents. ;-)

Nerd moment!

I just found out the latest X-Men movie is being filmed in Jekyll Island. Sweet! (Jekyll is a couple hours drive from where I live)

Okay, I got that out of my system. Phew!

Mr. S and I, being the Christmas enthusiasts that we are, have started decorating a bit...early. We have our Christmas lights up and it's not even Thanksgiving yet. Hey, if Walmart can start decorating, we can too! :-P

Lexi enjoyed watching the lights. I wore her in my wombfruit wrap, and cleaned off bird poo off of the railings while Mr. S strung lights. That was yucky.

Babywearing is another slightly-crunchy thing I've picked up since becoming a mom. It's so much easier to just wear her and get stuff done than to try to carry her AND do chores. Two free hands are a must!

Here's us at a pumpkin patch in my Beco Gemini. We're both cozy and comfy!
